Rev. Charles R. Tyner, Sr. is the founder of the WOF, Inc., (founded in 1998) and served as Chairman for the first seven years. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Board (since 2005). He is a retired educator in the Northampton County Public School System – with thirty years of experience as a teacher, principal and consultant in the North Carolina School System. Rev. Tyner earned a BA degree from Shaw University (Religion, Philosophy and History) and a MA degree from N.C. Central University. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards and achievements uses his expertise and knowledge by serving on several Committees and Boards within the State of North Carolina.
Attorney Jeanette T. Peace serves as the chairman of the White Oak Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors
Jeanette is the founder of Peace & Associates law offices in Sanford, North Carolina. Since 1999, they have grown to include a branch office in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. Their specialty is in the area of Social Security Disability benefits for those who have are disabled or been injured on the job and need legal assistance.

George M. Greene
The Reverend Dr. George M. Greene is a retired security professional with more than 42 years of public service to the Army National Guard and the US Department of Homeland Security. He has received the following degrees: an Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration from Rutledge Business College, Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, Religion & Sociology from Shaw University. Dr. Greene’s postgraduate studies are comprised of a myriad professional and military initiatives and schools to include studying at the University of Maryland European Division and Colorado State University where he was licensed a Change Management Practioner. In May 2022 Dr. Greene received his Doctor of Ministry (DMin) from the Hosanna Bible College. Dr. Greene’s mission, kingdom, and networking experience has made global impacts that has increased the human condition of so many others by his dedication and advocacy.
Artie Brewington retired from Duke University Health System. She joins White Oak Foundation as a regular volunteer focused on the Housing Program.
Janet carries over 18 years of excellent customer service experience; interfacing with customers and providing warm proficient guidance to the client. She’s also an accomplished sales person making critical bottom-line impacts for her previous employers.
She currently serves as the Intake Specialist for the Housing Program and Receptionist for the Foundation. Janet initiates the entire housing process once a call is received into the center.
Kathleen Herndon-Lee spent a lifetime of service as an educator in the Public School System as well as a Professional Services Consultant for numerous Corporations during her vibrant career. Kathleen joined the White Oak Foundation team in 2006 as Director of Human Services. Kathleen received her BA degree in Education from Shaw University and a MA degree in Education for North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC.
Kathleen leads the Human Services Programs for the White Oak Foundation.
Michele Harrison has extensive experience in the non-profit industry. Michele is currently serving as Manager of the Housing Program for the White Oak Foundation.
Michele received her BA degree in Mass Communications from the University of North Carolina. She’s NC Certified by NCLR, NCHFA, FreddieMac, NCRC & National Service Center. Michele is experienced in providing education and counseling in budgets and financial management, rentals, mortgage pre-qualification & pre-purchase and foreclosure prevention, default & delinquency.
Yvonne Harrison worked in both the non-profit and for profit industries for over 15 years. Yvonne’s is currently serving as Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director and Project Manager in selected areas.
Yvonne received a B.S. in Business Administration and A.A.S. in Office Information Systems. She holds certifications in NHNLA Housing Counseling, NCHEC Pre-Purchase Homeownership Education, and Essentials of Human Resources Management, Duke University, Durham, NC.
Regenia Sanders is a retired IBM Sales and Services employee with over 40+ years of experience in Management, Marketing, Enablement and Computer Consulting. Regenia currently serves as the Special Projects, Compliance and Human Resource Officer for the White Oak Foundation and is responsible for driving the annual Foundation Golf Classic. Regenia received her BS degree in Business Administration: Manpower and Industrial Relations from the Ohio State University. She’s currently Information Technology Infrastructure Library® (ITIL) Certified.
Dorothy Winston has been a team member of the White Oak Foundation, Inc. for over 15 years. She provides oversight for audits and financial reporting.
Alonzo Wilson focuses on the development and construction projects a targeting low and moderate income families and individuals. He was a member of the initial team that incorporated the White Oak Foundation, Inc. in 1998.
Aleia Woodard has joined White Oak Foundation, Inc. as the new Property Manager.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and has a heart for helping people. Over the last 5 years, she’s gained experience in the non-profit sector and the housing field through program development and multifamily property management. Aleia currently holds a certification in Health Education and is a HUD Certified Housing Counselor.
Juanita Young is a long-term Foundation Grant Writer and spearheads the Black and White Scholarship Fundraiser and Scholarship Program for the White Oak Foundation.
